Key Supporters of the Romanian National Competence Centre for Social Innovation

The National Competence Centre for Social Innovation (developed by fonduri-structurale.ro / consolid8) is an initiative that supports social entrepreneurs, intermediary organizations, researchers and public authorities in Romania in implementing projects funded by the ESF+ in the field of social innovation.

The Romanian National Competence Centre for Social Innovation benefits from the active support and involvement of the following organizations:

  • Ashoka Romania: a leader in promoting social entrepreneurship for sustainable change in education, health, the environment, and human rights.
  • Synerb Venture Catalyzer: an impact accelerator that supports organizations and social entrepreneurs in reducing socio-economic disparities.
  • OilRight: a social enterprise focused on sustainable solutions by offering a short recycling and reuse chain for used cooking oil, while employing people from vulnerable groups.
  • Universitatea de Vest dinTimișoara: an academic partner in research and training in the field of social innovation.
  • Mamapan: a social business that reinvests its profits into social activities, providing jobs for people from vulnerable groups.
  • CRIES – Centrul de Resurse pentru Inițiative Etice și Solidare: one of the first organizations involved in promoting and developing the concept of social and solidarity economy in Romania.
  • Romania Pozitivă: a media platform and community of social storytellers that amplifies high-impact initiatives.
  • Clusterul de Educație C-EDU: an innovation ecosystem for Cluj-based entrepreneurs, supported by local government, academia, NGOs, and companies.
  • Urba Sofia: an organization for integrated urban and regional planning, offering citizen- and environment-centered solutions.
  • Ateliere fără Frontiere: an association with economic activities aimed at the social, professional, and civic integration of marginalized individuals through economic initiatives.
  • Romanian American Foundation (RAF): supports projects, ideas, and organizations with substantial community impact potential and high scalability.
    Through this collaboration, the Romanian National Competence Centre for Social Innovation aims to build an open public infrastructure that facilitates navigation of processes within the public social-innovation system, by improving access to tools and knowledge that ease local-level implementation of social-entrepreneurship projects.
